EFT TAPPING SCRIPT: to support kids through nightmares & feeling scared

Here are 20 examples of statements you can use while tapping with your kids…alter as you see fit. If you are not sure which points to tap on - see this POST for detailed guidance.

  • I feel scared

  • I can’t stop thinking about this scary thought

  • This bad dream

  • Every time I close my eyes it comes back

  • It’s so scary

  • I want to believe it’s not real

  • That it is just a dream & I am safe

  • See the thing is, I’m not stuck in this feeling

  • It is my mind, I get to decide what I focus on

  • And I’m choosing to think & dream about butterflies (or insert something that brings your child joy)

  • I might even smile because this dream will be so good

  • I might laugh out loud

  • And how fun will that be

  • To choose my dream

  • To pick what I think about

  • I’m ready to feel happy safe & calm in my thoughts

  • My mind supports me

  • It is easy for me to feel safe and calm

  • My body feels protected

  • It is safe for me to go to sleep now

Add anything else you feel fit or continue repeating until the child has calmed. It is best to first acknowledge what is “scary” and then slowly and more confidently bring in the positive/desirable.
